  3. Betsy is the neighbour of Fiona and 4th to the left of Dennis.
  4. Edward is the neighbour of Herbert and 3rd to the right of Fiona.
  5. Chloe is neither the neighbor of Alex nor of Giles.

Solution:
From clues 1 to 3, we get, 

From 4, Edward is third to the right of Fiona. So, Case I turns out to be false. Now with clue 4, we have derived Case II - a and Case II - b.


From clue 2, we get that, Dennis is not the neighbor of Herbert. so, Case II - a gets rejected. From clue 2, the possibilities are, 
From clue 5, Chloe cant be the neighbor of Giles. So, Case II - c gets rejected, and also Chloe can't be the neighbor of Alex and the final arrangement is as follows.



Set 2:
In a row of soldiers facing North,
  1. Lambert is 8th to the right of Khurusheva;
  2. Mickey is 16th from the left end;
  3. Lambert is 16th to the right of Jackson, who is 27th from the right end of the row;
  4. Khurusheva is nearer than Mickey to the right end of the row;
